This has occurred after many were upset about DJ Sol Phenduka’s segment this morning about Marli van Breda, the 16 year-old survivor of this weekend’s horrific family axe murder at Kleine Zalze.
Jokes were made about wanting to "axe her out" since she was such a "gorgeous" girl.
Many believed the comments to be in very poor taste, and complained to the station on social media.
5FM considers this morning’s Fresh and Vrot Feature on Fresh@5 to be in utterly poor taste and would like to apologise unreservedly-- 1/2

The station has suspended 2 members of the team & has decided that this morning’s broadcast of the Fresh & Vrot feature will be the last.

Earlier today DJ Sol Phenduka took to Twitter, stating that he did not mean to offend anyone.
I would like to apologize to @5fm listeners who took offense in today "fresh & vrot " . The intention wasn't to offend .
