In response to a Women24 newsletter about Novemberitis, a reader jokingly breaks up with 2013.
Dear 2013,
You and I?
We're pretty much done. We don't work all that well together. Our personalities clash. You know the story.
It's not you, though - it's me. I get that. So I'm moving on. But before I go, I have a couple of things to get off my (pale, pasty) chest:
1. You were supposed to make me thin. You made me fat. I tried Weightwatchers. I tried 3-day fasts. Now I'm trying high-protein/low-carb. And you? You're on your way out the door. A-hole.
2. You were supposed to make me chill out more; to take 10 deep breaths; to say No. But you pushed me to work even harder. To make exceptions. To stumble through the extra mile. I'll give you 'for your own good'. In your face. With a cricket bat.
3. We were supposed to do a bit more fun travelling and a bit less TV watching. You bailed. And now I'm an expert on Masterchef Australia and my couch has a bum-shaped dent in it. Loser.
It's been real. Look after yourself, mate.
