Daddy-not-so-cool! A teenager has been left red-faced after her dad decided to copy all of her selfies on Facebook.
For the past year, Riley Anderson (14) from Vancouver, Canada, couldn’t log onto her Facebook account without getting a notification saying her father, Jonathan Russell (33), had posted a photo on her profile.
The photos, which occur on a weekly basis, depicts the dad mimicking his daughter’s selfies – right down to the duck pout.
Despite Jonathan’s attempts to be an embarrassing dad, Riley says she finds it funny and anticipates her father’s photo every time she posts a selfie.
“He’s been doing this for almost a year now and I can’t help but find it hilarious,” Riley said.
“At first it was a bit embarrassing, but my dad and I have a pretty funny relationship and are often making each other laugh.
“He’s always making jokes and is really good at putting a smile on my face when I’m sad. So I find it comforting to see his comments now.
“It’s become our thing, and even my friends find it funny too. They get excited to see his comments.
“It’s definitely become a tradition and I wouldn’t expect to post a story without him making fun of it with his own rendition!”
The construction worker says copying his daughter’s selfies has become “his thing”.
“I grew up in the ’90s and we didn’t take 100 selfies a day, so I think teenagers these days are pretty silly,” the dad said.
“I was aiming to be an embarrassing dad when I did it and then it became a bit of a routine.
“At first it was just some light-hearted poking fun at my daughter but now that everyone loves it, it’s my thing.
“I’m definitely going to keep doing it every time she posts a selfie!”
