Courteney Cox still has a strong bond with late friend and co-star, Matthew Perry.

The actress (59) says she feels Matthew's presence "all the time".

“I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years. He visits me a lot,” she said in an interview on CBS Sunday Mornings to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series finale of Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004.

“I do sense Matthew’s [spirit] around for sure,” she added.

Matthew died last year at age 54.

The Scream star said she believes her late family members and friends are guiding her through life.

“I’ve talked to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that are . . . I think they guide us.”

Courteney starred as Monica Geller and Matthew starred as Chandler Bing in Friends. Their characters became a couple and the actors became good friends since the series began airing 30 years ago.

“I think he’s probably one of the funniest human beings in the world. He’s just so funny. He had genuinely a huge heart,” she said.

“Obviously [he] struggled,” she added, reflecting on Matthew's decades-long battle with drugs and alcohol.

Matthew was found drowned in his jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home on 28 October last year.

Earlier this month Courteney posted a clip from the final episode of Friends on Instagram.

“It's been 20 years since the series finale of Friends," she wrote. “I don't know how we were able to act through all the tears. Forever grateful.”

Sources close to the cast say they are planning a get-together to celebrate the anniversary.

“The prospect of having a reunion or a formal get-together without Matthew is bittersweet. There will be a huge void,” the source told Us Weekly.

“[But] they know Matthew would’ve wanted them to carry on and celebrate the show. So that’s very much on their minds as they move forward.”
