The Cape is used to crazy weather, with vicious cold fronts racing in from the sea to ravage the region.

But the battering the coast has been receiving lately is in a terrifying league of its own. 

Storm surges producing towering waves up to 9 metres high that crashed into houses and restaurants and tossed cars about like Dinky Toys. Floods that left houses submerged, roads ruined and several people dead.
