Prince William "got very excited" when he got to toss grenades around on his recent visit as Colonel-in-Chief to the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment in Salisbury Plain.

Colonel-in-Chief is an honorary position usually bestowed upon royals, and William (41) was appointed to the role by his father King Charles (75) in August. 

The Mercian Regiment, founded in 2007, is the infantry division of the British Armed Forces.
