Lesotho MPs 'demand 100% pay rise' – report
Lesotho's Members of Parliament (MPs) are reportedly demanding a 100% pay increase despite being already among the best-paid people in the landlocked African country.
According to the privately owned Lesotho Times newspaper, Prime Minister Thomas Thabane has instructed Finance Minister Moeketsi Majoro to explore a "revised salary structure" for the parliamentarians.
If the lawmakers' demands are met, their monthly salary would double to $5 344 while ordinary Basotho workers earn a measly $144 a month, said the report.

Thousands rally as Tshisekedi returns to launch DRC presidential bid
Tens of thousands of supporters turned out to welcome Congolese opposition scion Felix Tshisekedi as he returned to Kinshasa on Tuesday to kick off his campaign to replace President Joseph Kabila in next month's election.
"We will go with the people and we will win," declared Tshisekedi, the 55-year-old son of the late Etienne Tshisekedi, who for decades was the face of DRC's opposition.
"We'll take 60% of the votes," he said.

In eastern DRC, 19 die of Ebola in five days
The deadly Ebola outbreak which has ravaged eastern Democratic Republic of Congo for nearly four months has claimed another 19 lives in just five days, the health ministry has said.
The outbreak, which began on August 1, has now killed 241 people, the ministry said in a statement late on Tuesday.
"There have been 241 deaths," the ministry said in an update correct to November 26, indicating there had been a total of 421 cases - 374 of them confirmed, and another 47 probable.

Gabon's ailing Ali Bongo to fly to Rabat Wednesday, says wife
Gabon's Ali Bongo, who has spent a month in treatment at a Saudi hospital, will on Wednesday be transferred to Rabat to continue his recovery, his wife said on Tuesday.
Bongo, 59, was rushed to hospital in Riyadh on October 24 after falling ill at an economic forum.
After an extended period of silence, the Gabonese presidency eventually admitted he was "seriously ill" and had undergone surgery, while insisting he was on the mend.
"Tomorrow, Wednesday 28 November... Ali Bongo Ondimba, my husband, will leave the King Faisal hospital in Riyadh," wrote his French-born wife Sylvia on Facebook.
