In his red outfit the Ugandan pop star Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, better known as Bobi Wine, has been leading cheering campaigners down Ugandan streets to protest against various governmental reforms over the past few months.
Ssentamu had been detained and charged last week with illegal possession of firearms for his alleged role in an incident in which President Yoweri Museveni's motorcade was pelted with stones.
The weapons charge was dropped by the military court, but Ssentamu was arrested again minutes later and charged with treason by a civilian court on Thursday.
