Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly again narrated his narrow escape from death after he was poisoned during the power struggles inside his ruling Zanu-PF party last year.
Mnangagwa told CNN that he was helped by his deputy Constantino Chiwenga, who arranged for a military helicopter after the mysterious poisoning at a Zanu-PF rally in Gweru in August last year.

Mnangagwa suffered poisoning at a rally organised in support of former president Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace, NewsDay reported at the time.
His supporters said he was deliberately poisoned by ice-cream from Grace Mugabe’s dairy, a claim that infuriated the former first family.
Mnangagwa has, however, refused to name the former first lady as being behind the poisoning attempt.
