Sticky Sweet & Sour Pork Chops

Pork chops and pap is a “local is lekker” favourite, so we’ve come up with a #JustDelicious and super-tasty twist that takes your braai to the next level. You’re welcome!

Ingredients

8 Eskort Pork Chops

10ml (2t) rosemary

5ml (1t) paprika

15ml (1T) honey

100ml (2/5c) balsamic vinegar

100ml (2/5c) olive oil

15ml (1T) soy sauce

10ml (2t) chutney

olive oil for frying (not for braaiing)

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients except the oil in a bowl to make a marinade.
  • Place the chops in a shallow casserole dish and pour over the marinade to coat the chops both sides.
  • Cover and refrigerate for an hour or two (the longer the better), turning the chops occasionally.
  • Remove from the fridge to reach room temperature.
  • The chops can be fried in heated oil in a pan, or grilled on the braai.
  • Cook the chops for 4-5 minutes each side, basting occasionally with the leftover marinade.
  • Serve warm with pap, a side salad or veggies of your choice.
