WATCH: Critically endangered baby black rhino born at Chester Zoo

A critically endangered Eastern black rhino has been born at Chester Zoo in the United Kingdom. Only 650 of these rhinos remain on the planet.

According to the zoo's website, the male baby rhino was born to his mother 12-year-old Malindi in the middle of the day in front of amazed visitors. The birth started at around 12.30 and took about an hour, and within 15 minutes the baby was up on his feet.

Earlier this year a baby black rhino was born at the Port Lympne Reserve in Kent as part of their breeding programme.
