WATCH: Mesmerising footage of rare eel spotted in Pacific Ocean

A rare gulper eel has been spotted by an expedition into the previously unseen expanded territory of Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument.

Gulper eels  are rarely seen by humans and only come into contact with deep sea fishermen. They are also known as pelican eels or umbrella-mouth gulpers.
