Climate change is just one of the issues which are tempting scientists out of their labs and into the public arena to run for office in the United States midterm elections in November 2018.

While finding facts and problem-solving come naturally to many scientists, there may be other skills that don't, like convincing people to support your policies.

"One of the hardest things is to repeat your basic message again and again," says Congressman Bill Foster, who has an impressive science background with a doctorate in physics from Harvard University.
