Meet our new stokvel ambassador!
The Move! stokvel is one of the most important things on our social calendars and we always look forward to meeting you at these special events.
And now, at the next one, you’ll be meeting our brand-new stokvel ambassador, Mathawe Matsapola.
Move! caught up with Mathawe to learn more about her.
A FRESH FACE
Mathawe is a devoted mother of two young daughters. “My first calling is to raise them into powerful women who’ll make a difference in society,” she says. “I am the Move! ambassador who will be walking this exciting journey with you.
“I am a storyteller, innovator, motivational speaker and a woman of God. I’ve been a journalist for 14 years, passionately and authentically telling people’s stories in different newsrooms.”
Mathawe was born and raised in a village called Botlokwa in Limpopo. “Growing up on the dusty streets of Botlokwa shaped me into the woman I am today,” she says. “I am a dreamer, go-getter of note and give 100% to everything I do.
“I’ve always lived by Scott Hamilton’s words that the only disability in life is a bad attitude. I am a praying woman and live by faith. I don’t limit myself as I believe I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.”
THE IMPORTANCE OF STOKVELS
It’s not easy to save these days, Mathawe says. “This is why stokvels are important as they help us to save money for whatever need we might have in future. Growing up I saw my mother participating in different stokvels, which helped us greatly as a family. Stokvels are an answer to many of our financial needs.”
She is looking forward to interacting and networking with Move! readers. “My big purpose is to serve you to the best of my abilities and make a difference that will touch and change lives. I’m looking forward to learning from all of the movers and shakers I’ll be meeting in different provinces.”
“We all want to be financially free and live a happy life,” Mathawe points out. “It all starts in the mind. For one to change their lives for the better they first have to change the way they think and have a positive outlook.
“I’m hoping to inspire everyone attending. To show you that you can do it and it’s never too late to achieve your dreams. Be on the move and be inspired.”
Join her this Friday in East London at Hotel Osner, Court Crescent, Esplanade from 9am until 3pm as we celebrate Women’s Day with other powerful women. Tickets are available for only R200 at Computicket.
