Popular gospel singer, Nosipho Daniels, is using her traumatic past to motivate and encourage women to have a relationship with God.

The prophetess and motivational speaker will be hosting a women’s conference in Johannesburg, to emphasize the importance of taking care of themselves first, before even thinking of giving. “Women, especially, were created to be nurturers, our first instinct is to give to others, but we can’t pour from an empty cup,” she tells Move!

“I come from a very broken place, my past speaks for itself. The emotional and physical abuse I endured in my marriage was a very painful period in my life, I suffered to the point of almost being depressed, but God came in and saved me just in time,” she continues, “all of that was a test, preparing me for my testimony – it had to happen, so that when I speak to people today, they can relate because I’m talking about things they’ve been through or are still going through.”

Nosipho says if it weren’t for God’s intervention, she would’ve become a drug addict, depressed or even dead. “I reached a point where pills were not working, I knew that it was God that I needed, and when I accepted His invitation to be under His protection, it all made sense.”

And now, this mother of three boys is using her past traumas to show people across the country how possible it is to bounce back from anything with God. She’s been holding conferences in Cape Town for both men and women, but now since it’s women’s month, she’s bringing a conference specifically for women, to Johannesburg.

“The event is for every woman who feels she has no hope or needs help with going back to the person God created. Be prepared to be inspired by stories of various women who have been through the worst things. There will also be performances from some phenomenal gospel artists, because we need to celebrate and thank God for how far we’ve come, no matter how hard our lives may seem right now,” she says.

Tickets for the event are available at Pick n Pay stores nationwide for R100.

Nosipho will also be speaking at the upcoming Move! stokvel event in Cape Town on September 7.
