Right now, falling to pieces in sin, I must confess that I and many other males stupidly slept with women
If only we knew better.
Revelation 14:1-4
"The 144,000 who will be chosen at the Second Coming: "Then I looked, and there was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion! And with him were 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads...It is these who have not DEFILED themselves with women, for they are virgins."
I never realised or even dreamt that I and the other male half of the population were defiling ourselves and adding to the bible’s already attribution of sinfulness to the consenting female half of the human population.
I am no longer eligible for one of those exclusive holders of office the writer of Revelation informs us about.
If only we males knew.
What is/was it about our Sunday School upbringing that was so amiss that we had not been warned and forearmed to stay away from women? We stupid males being the victims of the devious and devilish women who are, it now turns out with more knowledge coming our way, the cause that we will never occupy the lofty positions marked out for the saints who managed to withstand the filthy temptation offered by women, to rule one day over the rest of us sex driven underlings who, after all, were only carrying out god’s command in Genesis to multiply and fill the earth and rule over nature.
Why does one get the feeling that the bible as it is being presented to us may not quite be the infallible word of some god said to regulate this vast universe?
I as a male may now have to apologise to all women that I was part of the deception to women that heterosexual behaviour was in order. (Note: I am not at all knocking homosexuality here.)
Now, to get back to the writer of the Revelation piece, I am not saying he necessarily had a problem with heterosexuality. But maybe he had some other huge personal issues.
OK. I retract the last paragraph and restate that I do apologise for my maleness and drives and that women participated in the defilement.
Thanks writer of Revelation for pointing out to us the real truth.
If only our Sunday School teachers and parsons/dominees/priests had the guts to alert us to what was really expected of us, namely not to defile ourselves and others. But what were they then engaged in as a side-line after and outside Sunday School?
What a waste of sperm.
