'Who does Zapiro think he is?'

Zapiro's fascination with ridiculing the African National Congress and its leaders borders on utter disrespect for democracy.

Out of the 15 recently drawn cartoons, 13 are about the ANC and its youth league. He clearly has an agenda which compromises him both as an artist and a journalist especially when he decides to misrepresent and lie about facts.

This week's cartoon refers to the "Banana Republic Road" which is a privileged access for among others "President’s concubines". This is an insult not only to the President but his wives too!

Wikipedia defines a concubine as:
"A woman in an ongoing, matrimonial-like relationship with a man, whom she cannot marry for a specific reason. The reason may be because she is of lower social rank than the man or because the man is already married."

...and to be absolutely certain that the definition is correct I checked Wisegeek and this is their definition:

"A concubine is a woman who lives with a man in a situation which is similar to marriage, although without all of the privileges of marriage. The term can refer simply to a woman who lives with a man without being married, although it usually specifically refers to a contracted state which establishes the concubine as a lesser member of a household which may already include other wives."

President Zuma is married to all his wives and he is on record as saying he treats them equally - why do you then, Zapiro, chose to misrepresent facts? Why have you never made a joke about the late Princess Diana and Camilla Parker-Bowles saga?

Allwords.com defines a Banana republic as:

"A small country, especially one in Central America, that is dependent on a single export commodity (traditionally bananas) and has a corrupt dictatorial government."

Dictionary.com confirms this definition, then, who gave you the right to depict our country as a Banana Republic?

Your continued exploitation of the freedom of speech and expression to attack and denigrate a democratically elected party and its leaders, whom unfortunately have guaranteed you all the rights you claim you have today, is treasonous and totally unacceptable!

Who the hell do you think you are?
