The perfect person to replace Shaun Abraham is Thuli Madonsela.
Her credentials are impeccable, she has been hardened to the rigors of chapter 9 leadership, and she would be the people's favourite.
That she acts without fear or favour is without question. Best of all she's still contemplating her future, and so she could start within weeks. The biggest threat SA faces in the light of the court judgement giving Cyril Ramaphosa the responsibility of appointing the new NDPP is that Cyril might be fired by Zuma who could appoint a new deputy who would surely appoint another NDPP as compliant and Abrahams in an effort to ensure that none of these prosecutions proceed.
This court decision is so disastrous for the Zuma/Gupta/State Capture project and to the swarm of national, provincial and municipal government officials, and a growing band private sector leaders who are now implicated and who have been inspired and encouraged by the presidents actions and his system of protection.
It is in their interests to act swiftly to remove Cyril Ramaphosa before he can act to appoint an honest and active NDPP. It is more than that, it is now their only course of action.
So Cyril, a word of advice from someone who has the future of SA at heart as much as you do and who has faith that this country will simply not allow an apartheid system to be replaced with a state capture one. Please act swiftly. Make the intention of the court, that the country deserves a new NDPP who is independantly appointed a reality, before the state capture project subverts this intention.
For all our sakes, but particularly for the poor and the unemployed.
