My mother too was a patient of Dr Chris Barnard.
She had a heart valve replacement in around 1954 at the age of about 15. My mother turned 68 in May this year and was never sick a day in her life due to her heart. She had 4 kids, of which one pregnancy was twins in 1970. I am one of those twins. My brother was born in April 1972. In 1987 a "laatlam" baby wanted to join the family and we got a sister, the 4 child. None of us have any heart related health problems.
She only recently got high blood pressure only now is experiencing blood circulation issues.
I owe my life to Dr Chris Barnard. Heart treatment is expensive and sophisticated, but so needed. I am proud to be a South African with a "relationship" with Prof Chris Barnard.
