Randburg woman’s life changed after her SABC news interview on coronavirus went viral: ‘I am thankful to God’
When Nozi Majavu woke up on Tuesday morning, nothing could have prepared her for the way her life was about to change later that day.
You might remember her from the now-viral video on social media where she was interviewed live on TV.
In the video, a journalist is asks Nozi what she is doing to protect herself from catching the fast-spreading Covid-19 aka coronavirus.
It was her response, a well-articulated one, which made her video go viral.
“It is very easy when you’re somebody that believed in cleanliness. My motto is cleanliness is next to godliness. Coronavirus won’t catch me off-guard because I make it my lifestyle to wash my hands all the time,” she said during the interview.
Adding to her statement, Nozi said she also makes it a point that she boosts her immune system using organic supplements, also mentioning the specific brand she trusts with her wellbeing.

After watching the interview, many started calling for Xiangzhiling Esylife to pay her for the promo she’d given them on national TV.
How her life has since changed
Heeding to public’s calls, the brand got in touch with Nozi and arranged a meeting on the same.
“The CEO of the company in South Africa rewarded me very handsomely and I am happy and eternally grateful for that.
“I am also happy to announce that people have reached out to me with proposals for speaking engagements at functions in the near future, on the other side of this coronavirus obviously,” she said.
Nozi told DRUM one of the things she was also grateful to have come out of her newfound fame was the recognition she received from Robert Marawa, who found the company’s Twitter account and tagged it.
“This was such a humbling surprise and I would, one day, love to meet him,” she told us.
Nozi lives in Windsor West in Randburg.
She said when calls began to come in following her interview, she was busy helping a friend make amagwinya to sell the following day.
“I just cried. I started praying and praised God for the blessings. Funny enough, what people saw in that interview was all I am. I was being me and for it to bring me such great returns, I am thankful to God,” she said.
