He’s the spitting image of (a much younger) Elvis Presley. His hair’s gelled up high and he rocks a slick black denim jacket and dark jeans.
But it’s not his looks only that caused a sensation on social media over the past week.
Eight-year-old Joshua Ziervogel of Van Riebeeck Park Primary in Kempton Park melted South Africans’ hearts after a video of his singing performance at his school concert was shared on Facebook.
Frans Swart of Lefra Productions posted the video on Friday, 24 August.
“This little guy stole the show at Revue 2018. Van Riebeeck Park Primary’s junior revue. Semifinals. Tonight. Too damn cute!!!” he captioned his post.
The video’s since been watched nearly 200 000 times plus shared 6 000 times by users of the popular social media platform.
“Yes, telling an eight-year-old to stay humble when everyone thinks his cute, isn’t easy,” the talented Grade 2 learner’s mom, Marna Ziervogel, told YOU.
“He has no issues with self-confidence,” she added.
Because Joshua isn’t in the least shy, Marna decided she wouldn’t tell him about the rave reception the video has enjoyed.
“I don’t want to expose him to it. We’re all working very hard to keep him humble,” she laughed.
