Warm welcome for British boys

Learners at Christmas Tinto Primary School in Nomzamo were happy to receive visitors from England yesterday (Wednesday 8 August).

The rugby players of the school received mini rugby balls from the boys from at 13:00 School in Hertfordshire, who toured the area.

The visitors were happy interacting with the young learners on the school field.

Ben Mahoney, head of rugby at Berkhamsted, said the tour aimed to expose their learners to the cultures and diversity of South Africa, particularly townships.

“This is a good time for them to interact and learn new things,” he said. “We have already played some friendly matches in Stellenbosch, and wanted to experience something new.”

The boys’ next stop is Port Elizabeth.
