Nobathembu Mabeka Mhlongo, artist and founder of Gracious Women on The Move will be hosting a Women’s Day Event on Thursday 9 August.
This is the foundation’s first ever event and it is aimed at bringing together women from all walks of life. The mission is to educate, inspire and motivate.
“A lot of women are wounded and with this event, we want to heal, restore and help each other learn to walk tall after all is said and done,” said Mhlongo.
With guest speakers such as Dr Marelize Swart, psychologist and sex therapist, who will tackle issues relating to sex; Adv. Bongiwe Lufundo, who will educate women about legal issues; and investment expert Nosibusiso Ngqondoyi who will tackle the issues of unemployment and how to overcome poverty, this event is said to be one for the books.
Other topics such as abuse will also be unpacked and how women can overcome and protect themselves. Artists such as Lusanda Mcinga, Nomzamo Sotiya and music group Onke and Anele will provide entertainment. Women from all walks of life are welcome to attend. The event will be held at JL Zwane Memorial Centre in Gugulethu from 10:00 until 16:00. Admission will be R100. The dress code is elegant and food and refreshments will be provided.
