Rotaract Club feeds children

IN commemoration of Nelson Mandela Day, the Rotaract Club of Verulam donated sandwich supplies to schools in Verulam.

President of the club Bhavisthra Ramlagan said many children go to school hungry and also don’t carry lunch.

“We need to ensure that the younger generation of our society is taken care of so they can grow and learn in the best way possible.

“Lack of food should not be something to anchor them down from becoming something great one day. As the great Nelson Mandela said, our children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation. They will be the leaders of our country, the creators of our national wealth who care for and protect our people,” said Ramlagan.

The club also assisted at the LG Panel Beaters annual children’s day.

“It was a fun day spent with children.”

The Rotaract Club of Verulam thanked everyone who sponsored items for its Nelson Mandela Day project.

The club meets every second Wednesday and the public is urged to join. For details, contact Ramlagan at 076 336 2790.
