Business seminar held to educate youth on how to start a business

AT A business seminar held at the Sukuma Hall, outside Ixopo, last Friday, October 26, a number of young people from Ixopo and surrounding areas were given training on how to establish their own businesses.

The main goal of the seminar was to aid in the growth of the local economy and to fight unemployment in the region.

The seminar was organised by the Themba Mnguni Youth Forum, which is owned by a group of young people, namely Xolani Nzimande, Zonda Dlamini, and Sizwe Duma.

The three established the forum to help others like themselves achieve their goals.

“Many young people are unemployed in Ixopo and they should consider establishing their own companies and businesses to fight poverty,” said Nzimande.

At the event, stakeholders, companies, businesses, municipalities and higher education institutions discussed the challenges faced by young people and women.

Stakeholders also spoke about possible business opportunities for the budding entrepreneurs.
