MATATIELE police had to intervene after a small crowd of angry contractors and business people closed the gates of the former Maluti College with the aim of getting attention from government on Monday.
Government officials who work for the Department of Education, Department of Environmental Affairs, Department of Health and the traffic department are using the former Maluti College as their offices.
According to police, owners of contractors and businesses were demanding tenders from government.
Police spokesperson Captain Raphael Motloung said police arranged a meeting with angry contractors and government officials on the same day and a decision to hold another meeting was made.
“Small contractors and business people complained of being sidelined by government,” said Motloung.
