THE Mount Fletcher Regional Court last week sentenced a 35-year-old man to 18 years imprisonment for the rape of a Kokstad woman that happened in October, 2016.
“The woman received a phone call from the man who told her that she had got a new job in Mount Fletcher and must come to work.
“The woman borrowed money from relatives and when she met the man in Mount Fletcher, she was assaulted and raped,” said SAPS spokesperson Captain Raphael Motloung.
He said the accused locked the woman in his house but she escaped after she was given money by a friend of his. She then reported the matter to police.
A case of rape was opened and investigated by Mount Fletcher Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. — Supplied.
