The police in Kuruman are on the trail of one of five suspects who are still on the run in connection with a case of culpable homicide and murder after a 55-year-old man lost his life in the Kuruman Central Business District (CBD) on Thursday (08/11).
The deceased was allegedly attacked and robbed by five suspects, and then pushed underneath a moving truck, which fatally wounded him.
According to Capt. Olebogeng Tawana, police spokesperson, four suspects, aged 21 to 26 years, have been arrested and charged with murder.
The truck driver failed to stop at the accident scene and drove away.
“Three of the suspects were pointed out by an eyewitness, and they were arrested while still roaming the CBD,” said Tawana.
“Shortly after the arrest of the three suspects, information led the police to the Tshwaragano Hospital, where the fourth suspect was being treated for injuries he had sustained when they had wrestled and pushed the victim underneath the moving truck.”
An appeal is made by the police in Kuruman for the driver of the truck to report to the nearest police station in order to assist in resolving the case.
