A heartfelt appeal is made by the family of Willem “Poenas” Jantjies (69) to members of the community to help bring him home safely.
Jantjies was last seen on 10 December 2017 while visiting his relatives in Number 2, Kimberley.
According to the family, Jantjies is well known in Kimberley for his heart of gold. He would often be asked by members of the community to run errands for them.
He had relocated to Griekwastad in 2013.
His sister Maureen revealed that they have since opened a missing person’s case at the Galeshewe Police Station in December 2017.
According to Maureen, Jantjies’ disappearance has left his mother traumatised, as they have searched everywhere they could, without success.
“We cannot understand what happened because he has never disappeared for such a long time before,” said Maureen.
Jantjies was unemployed at the time of his disappearance. He has no mental disability.
Anyone who can provide a lead with regards to the disappearance, can contact the family on 076-652-0358 or 063-609-7540. Alternatively the family can be found at 19865 Ethel Street, Galeshewe.
