The Life Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein and Feedem, the hospital’s catering service, spread some love on Mandela Day (18 July).
They treated the residents of the Eden Ministries Centre to a special meal of curry and rice.
The centre reportedly accommodates 110 residents, of whom most are elderly, mentally disabled or destitute.
The meal, with 20 litres of fruit juice concentrate, 20 loaves of bread and two large cakes, specially baked by Blue Ribbon, were given to the centre.
The Life Rosepark Hospital’s consultation forum launched a project among staff to make up pamper boxes for these residents.
The pamper boxes, together with much-needed groceries, were purchased in 67 minutes.
Other items, like adult nappies, aqueous body cream and multi-vitamins, were also handed to Ralph Bruiners, director of Eden Ministries.
