Nelson Mandela has been making an imprint on the world for 67 years, beginning in 1942 when he first started to campaign for the human rights of every South African.
It is for this reason that Kolomela Mine devoted this year’s 67 Minutes of public service under the theme, Action against poverty, to fix up, cover books and spring clean the Jenn Haven Library in Postmasburg.
On Wednesday, 18 July, Kolomela Mine in partnership with Kolomela’s contracting companies, contributed 67 minutes of their time towards giving the Jenn Haven Library a facelift.
According to the mining company’s statement, the mine also celebrated Madiba’s 100 years with the Anglo American theme, Choose a book, change a life, and donated 100 books to the library.
By doing this, they gave the gift of knowledge.
A special thank you is directed to Kolomela Mine’s employees for their dedication and volunteerism support on the day.
