Love products’ big ingredient

Enterprising entrepreneur Anet Matakala from Bloemfontein has received much-needed funding to invest in her business of manufacturing health-care and beauty products.

She received R70 000 following her selection as one of 36 winners in the Shoprite’s Hustle competition, which runs nationally.

The competition was open to small business owners with an annual turnover of less than R1 million.

The funding provided to the winners, from different areas of South Africa, is meant to be spent on marketing and support and to sustain their business.

Matakala started her business, Nettah Organics, last year.

This is a budding enterprise in the world of health-care products and she manufactures and markets a range of personal health-care products that are organic and hand-crafted.

She has two people working with her to produce products for skin, hair and body.

Matakala never had special products like these, growing up in the Maebani Village, located in the northern part of Limpopo.

Her range of products is a result of self-discovery.

She said she never could afford any health-care products.

Matakala said this had inspired her to discover her own products.

Through Nettah Organics, Matakala retails her own brand of health-care products so that other women and girls can have access to quality products.

With the funding received from the retailer, Matakala believes her mission to diversify the beauty industry with her range of skincare products is on track.

Matakala prides herself in one of the things that makes her products special.

“They are all hand-crafted with the utmost care.

“All my products are derived from nature and made with love, so I hope that the love transfers to the user,” Matakala says.
