Richard Ntule (32) was convicted of corruption and sentenced to four years’ imprisonment by the Kuruman Regional Court on 7 September.
He had been arrested on 17 December following an investigation by the Hawks. by Kuruman police to investigate him for paying them a R500 bribe in exchange that his friend be released who was in the country illegally.
His sentence is suspended for five years, providing that he pays a fine of R7 500.
