The Northern Cape Police welcomed the six years sentencing that was handed to Ayanda Ambraal (29) in the Noupoort Regional Court for attempted murder.
In a statement, police spokesperson Sergio Kock said that the accused had an argument with his girlfriend Doreen Van Wyk (28) when he stabbed her twice with a knife.
Ambraal was arrested and stayed in custody until sentenced in the Noupoort Regional Court on 17 August.
