The Kimberley High Court has found Mzwandile Majosi (30) guilty of stabbing and killing Const. Lentswe Edward Magorosi (35), who was formerly stationed at the Roodepan Police Station.
Majosi was sentenced on Monday, 3 September.
Magorosi’s body was found in the field at Lerato Park, Kimberley, on 8 January last year.
Nomthandazo Mnisi, Hawks spokesperson, confirmed that he had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Following an investigation by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit, Majosi was arrested.
His sentences, which will run concurrently, include life imprisonment for murder, 15 years’ imprisonment for robbery and one year imprisonment for the possession of drugs.
