Award-winning jazz musician Nduduzo Makhathini will bring the curtain down on Women’s Month, performing on 26 August at Gluhwein and Jazz at the Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein.
Dubbed the leading light for the current generation of young South African jazz artists, the talented pianist and composer will be joined by some of the country’s best musicians. They are Ndabo Zulu (trumpet), Linda Sikhakhane (saxophone), Ayanda Sikade (drums) and Thuto Motsemme (saxophone).
Makhathini plays with a bright lyricism and a full sound pallet that gives him a markedly wide melodic vocabulary.
The show is courtesy of a partnership of promoter Lesley Jennings, Windmill Casino and Sonique Productions.
Jennings has produced exciting jazz experiences for local audiences over the years through concerts such as Jazz Evenings and Jazz on the Lawn.
The same quality is expected with Makhathini’s show to delight the audience and artists alike.
Tickets are available on Quicket at R80 (pre-sold) and R120 (cash at the door).
Doors will open at 14:00.
