Kamogelo Senatle (16) has been chosen as July’s winner of the Express Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month.
He was selected for his excellent achievements in a series of chess competitions.
Kamogelo won both the Mangaung Zone competition and the Motheo District u.17 boys chess competition held recently in Bloemfontein.
He went on to win a bronze medal at the Free State chess tournament held at the Black Mountain Lodge in Thaba Nchu.
Due to his impressive performance, Kamogelo has been included in the provincial team that will compete at this year’s national chess tournament to be held in Durban later this year.
He has represented the region and the province at several chess competitions.
Kamogelo is a Gr. 10 learner of the Hodisa Technical Secondary School in Bloemfontein and aspires to achieve more in the game he is so passionate about.
He lives by the motto: “I can and I will – end of story.”

SuperSport Let’s Play and Express are looking for youths aged six to 18 who excel in sport.
Candidates can nominate themselves or be nominated by a friend, teacher or coach. The winner, chosen from all the nominations received for that month, receives a Let’s Play hamper.
