ON a cloudy Tuesday morning, Mr Mdladla and his team from Greytown Metropolitan Life were part of the morning assembly at Sisekelo High. Mr CM Mdladla took this opportunity, full of life and excitement, to motivate the pupils with a scripture from the bible: Proverbs 14-12: “There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Mdladla explained, with some practical examples, that there are some evil actions or courses which men may think to be good for either through gross ignorance, or self-flattery, or through want of necessary diligence in examining them by the rule of God’s word, all which are culpable causes of the mistake, and therefore do not excuse the error, but the end thereof are the ways of death, the event shows that they were sinful and destructive.
He directed his scripture to the pupils who said they want to pass at the end of the year or they want to be successful in life, only to find that they are currently living the opposite to what they are hoping for at the end.
For example, pupils are currently taking drugs, drinking, smoking, are being rebellious towards parents and teachers, causing trouble at home and school. He emphasised that all these things might seem good in the eyes of the pupils, but in the long run it will lead them into emotional, spiritual and physical death and this will hinder their success.
He closed by praying for God’s protection over pupils.
