Junior jottings

ON Tuesday July 31 Greytown Junior School Grade 1 and 2 mini soccer sides travelled to Treverton.

The Grade 1 side played a total of three games, losing one and winning two. The Grade 2 side also played a total of three games and won all of them.

On Friday August 3 we hosted the Inter House Athletics meeting.

The two houses Grant and Okes competed in field and track events.

Junior Victrix Ludorum were Zikhona Ndlovu and Princess Zuma, the Junior Victor Ludorum was Methuli Mntungwa. The best U12 athlete award went to Cassius Yu, the best overall field athlete award went to Zikhona Ndlovu.

The senior Victrix Ludorum was Elihle Dlomo and the senior Victor Ludorum was Siyanda Ngubane.

Okes was the overall house winner and they received the spirit cup.

A special thank you to all the athletes and staff for making the day a great success.

The U10, U11 and U13 soccer girls travelled to Wembley College to participate in a tournament hosted by Wembley on August 4.

The U10 scores were as follows: GJS vs Wartburg draw 0-0; GJS vs MCS draw 0-0 and GJS vs Wembley won 2-0.

The U11 soccer girls played a total of three games against Wartburg, Maritzburg Christian School and Wembley College.

The girls played well and displayed good teamwork to secure two wins and one draw.

The scores were as follows: GJS vs Wartburg draw 0-0; GJS vs MCS draw 0-0 and GJS vs Wembley won 2-0.

The U13 soccer girls also played a total of three games. In the first we drew 1-1 against Wartburg two, in the second we drew against MSC and in the final game of the day we lost 2-0 against Wartburg.
