Lighting up the lives of Matimatolo residents

SCORES of community members gathered at the Umvoti Municipality for the handover of 64 high masts in Wards 2, 3 and 13 at Matimatolo area, Greytown on Friday, January 11.

Communications manager for Umvoti Municipality Phindile Phungula said: “The handover of these masts, led by the Mayor TC Ngubane and Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Obed Bapela, illustrated yet again that the municipality is well on its way to bettering the lives of all who live in Umvoti.”

The installation of these high masts also provided job opportunities for the youth which alleviated poverty in the area.

Phungula said the installation of these high masts will assist in the fight against crime in the areas where there’s no street lights.
