SUNDAY dawned bright and clear for the annual Farmers vs. Town tennis challenge.
By mid-morning the temperature had risen to a slightly uncomfortable high.
Last year’s challenge ended in a draw, so the game was on.
After the morning session of mixed doubles, the scores were very even, with only six games separating the teams.
The scores were Farmers 84 — Town 78.
As the teams were so even, the afternoon session of men’s and ladies doubles was a nail-biting affair, with the final scores being Town 83 — Farmers 79.
The final result saw Farmers win by 163 games to 161, a difference of one game to have drawn again.
Thanks to Wimpy for their ongoing sponsorship and delicious burgers for lunch, and to the ladies for all the delicious tea eats.
