NYUSWA Sporting Football Club, which was launched with the aim of developing boys’ talent in the KwaNyuswa area, are seeking sponsors for two football jersey kits, soccer balls and cones for practise.
Nyuswa Sporting FC chairman and coach Siyathemba Goqo said the club has 42 players and they are divided into four divisions.
“We have U11, U13, U15 and U17 and the reason we are seeking sponsors to donate soccer kit is because we only have two jerseys which we use for all the divisions. Also, when we practice, we don’t have the right equipment to use.”
Goqo said that the aim of the soccer team was to develop the boys’ soccer talent in KwaNyuswa in an effort to keep the youngsters away from social ills.
“The team now plays in South African Football Association (SAFA) Pinetown Local Football Association but the problem is that the team need the new kits because if they don’t have them by the start of the second round, they won’t participate in the league.
“The league training began in May and it will be such a disappointment to the boys if they are unable to play,” said the coach.
Coach Goqo stated that they don’t want money donations but rather the soccer kits themselves, saying: “If we can get a sponsor for the equipment it will mean a great deal to us.”
