Youth-involved policing

EARLIER this year, the SAPS national head office launched a new youth project to choose a Junior Station Commissioner in a bid to get the youth involved in society.

Each police station was to go through a nomination selection from all secondary high schools in their areas before proceeding to an interviewing panel where they would select a Junior Station Commissioner.

After the necessary selection that the schools had to go through, the Hillcrest Police Station chose their Junior Station Commissioner — Noluthando Mthethwa from Kwadinabakubo Secondary School.

Hillcrest communications officer Captain Linzi Smith said they are extremely proud of the pupil who has been selected as the Hillcrest SAPS Junior Station Commissioner.

“We wish her all the best and know she will make us all proud with the goals she wants to aspire to,” said the captain.
