LANGKLOOF Helping Hands, Master Waste Management and thousands of volunteers will unite on 15 September to clean up Ravinia and Joubertina in the Langkloof - all in celebration of World Cleanup Day.
According to Langkloof Helping Hands Chairperson Elizabeth Labuschagne, over 2 000 volunteers - including children, school learners and adults - are expected to help on the day.
“We will clean up Ravinia and Joubertina, which are littered with illegal waste dumped all over the two towns. Waste is furthermore strewn across all the streets in the area,” she says.
On the day, residents can discard their waste at the drop off site situated at 2 Kritzinger Street.
“Considering the vast number of volunteers we have to feed on the day, we humbly request donations in the form of samp or rice, chicken or meat, vegetables, beverages, food packaging and T-shirts,” says Labuschagne.
