Jeffreys Bay recycling facility delayed

KOUGA Municipality would like to apologise to Jeffreys Bay residents for the delay in getting its new recycling facility up and running.

Community Services Portfolio Councillor Daniel Benson said the municipality had hoped to have the recycling bins ready on time for the opening of the new drop-off zone opposite Jeffreys Bay Comprehensive High.

“Unfortunately, there were concerns that the bins would need strict monitoring to ensure that they are not misused, as was the experience at Supertubes Park.

“The municipality will, therefore, be appointing a service provider to take charge of the recycling.

“The tender will be advertised shortly and an appointment made as quickly as is possible.

“We know this has been a great inconvenience to residents who want to recycle and apologise sincerely for the delay.”
