Makeup artist to present masterclass

WORLD-renowned makeup artist, Ryno Mulder, will host a makeup masterclass at Marina Wharf at Marina Martinique in Jeffreys Bay from 10:00 to 15:00 on Saturday, August 25 - transforming the faces of Jeffreys Bay residents with the touch of his magic brush and a dash of powder.

Mulder is a recognised personality in South Africa’s beauty industry. He kickstarted his career in the fashion and beauty team of Rooi Rose magazine. He then worked with celebrities and models as stylist to numerous titles like Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Oprah, Sarie, Seventeen, Destiny, Bona, True Love, Wanted and Essentials.

Mulder counts Miglio and Honey Jewellery, French edition of FHM, Swiss department stores, Earthcote, Porsche Design, MTN and Vodacom as clients for whom he styled billboards and catalogues.

He also appeared on TV, radio and reality shows for SABC, DSTV, Kyknet, VIA tv, RSG, Radio Today, CliffCentral and Revlon.

With an avid interest in beauty, Mulder additionally worked with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics to develop their businesses in the Western Cape. When the lights of Johannesburg winked, he moved to the City of Gold as Style Director of Finesse magazine.

He has also been brand manager to two iconic international cosmetic brands and a South African nail brand.

Mulder is now a full-time freelance make-up artist and his journey continues to take him to destinations all over South Africa and the globe.

“As a small child I used to watch my mom’s very detailed makeup routine every morning. This made me aware of the power of transformation, and every game I played afterwards would be an opportunity for me to dress up myself or friends,” says Mulder.

“By a stroke of fate my career in journalism was diverted to working as a style and beauty editor at the top glossy magazines in South Africa. I consequently had many glamourous opportunities travelling across the country and the globe to practise my craft as a freelancer in television and advertising.

“I ultimately decided to share my gift for revealing the Hollywood beauty that is in every person, not just with the models and celebrities I encounter in the world of media and entertainment, but with people from all walks of life.”

This year Ryno trained with and was certificated by Mario Dedivanovic, the top makeup artist in the world and personal artist to Kim Kardashian.

The entry fee is R350 per person and includes refreshments, lunch and a certificate of attendance. Space is limited, thus bookings are essential.
