ZULU dance crews are being invited to enter the uShaka Marine World Zulu Dance Championship for the chance to win a one-year contract valued at R300 000.
The regional rounds will take place this Saturday and November 17, with the finals starting at 11 am on November 24.
Last year, uShaka resonated with the beat of African drums as 60 dance troupes performed a range of traditional dances associated with Zulu culture and based on warrior war dances.
“This unique event at uShaka Marine World offers performers a fantastic opportunity to develop this special dance form and share it with both local and international visitors,” uShaka Marine World chief executive officer, Dr Stella Khumalo, told The Witness.
For dance groups wishing to enter, registration for the championships can be done at the regional rounds.
