THE Hindi Shiksha Sangh Midlands played host to a sold-out crowd on August 18 at the Aryan Hall as various Indian acts kept the crowd entertained throughout the night.
Featuring the likes of local presenter Pravesh Sunker and being broadcasted live via Pietermaritzburg’s favourite Indian traditional radio station Hindvani, the event was heralded as an auspicious night filled with cultural performances.
“It was such an amazing turnout that we were shocked. We were completely sold out and actually had to turn away people who pitched up wanting to buy tickets at the door,” said public relations organiser, Mandisha Singh. She added that in future people should buy their tickets before hand in order to not be turned away.
All participants of the show were pupils from various Hindi schools affiliated with the Hindi Shiksha Sangh Midlands region.
Singh thanked all those involved in the organising of the event, in particular the various sponsors of the event who she hoped would go on to have lasting relationships with the organisation as well as the Hindi school teachers who ensured that guests were treated to a lovely evening.
Singh said she looked forward to the next event and hoped that they would be able to accommodate more people next time.
