THE Midlands Hindu Association will be hosting a public meeting on August 19 at the TPA Hall in Northdale to make the public aware that a public temple will be built in the northern area of Pietermaritzburg.
The proposed temple will be centrally built for easy access on Linum Road, Northdale, near Springvale Primary School.
“The temple will be easily accessible to the majority of the people and the area is safe for people to worship at the temple,” said the chairperson of the association, Barry Pillay.
He said that the main purpose of the public meeting is to make the public aware that the temple is going to be built to promote and propagate the religious traditions and cultural heritage of the Hindu community.
“We humbly request that the public become members and devotees of the temple,” said Pillay.
The chairperson said that at the moment the committee is small, and in order to build the temple they would need more people for the manpower that is needed in the building of the temple.
“The Midlands Hindu society is giving their full support to building this temple and we welcome anyone willing to attend the meeting to help,” said Pillay.
