HAVING recently made the transition into her own private practice, Dr Debbie Armstrong has pledged to serve the Pietermaritzburg community diligently and faithfully.
No stranger to the city, being a Pietermaritzburg born and bred resident herself, Dr Armstrong went on to study in Pretoria and then returned to her birth place where she completed her in service at the Greys, Edendale and Northdale hospitals respectively. “I also did anaesthetics for a year and subsequently received my diploma in anesthesiology,” said Armstrong.
With dreams of being a doctor from the tender age of 15, due to her love of all things biology and dealing with people, Dr Armstrong was determined to make her dream and passion a reality.
“I wanted to be a doctor from grade nine because I was fascinated with the way the body works and my love of working with people and fixing their problems drove me to pursue medicine,” said Dr Armstrong.
Dr Armstrong specialises in all chronic diseases, minor procedures and has a fully operational surgery equipped with all the necessary machinery. Humble when speaking about herself, Dr Armstrong emphasised her love of working with people, especially the elderly, women and children, stating that she is a people person who is ready and raring to help the community of Pietermaritzburg.
